Playing a mixture of old school blues and southern rock, Todd Simpson and Mojo Child simply love what they do. Forming in August of 2006, the band has put on quite a few shows in a short period of time. With the leading man, Todd, being only 19, the band intends on playing many more shows throughout the southeast and where ever the road may lead. Wes, the founder of the band, is not only Todd's rythm guitarist, but also his father. Wes brought Todd up listening to the greatest blues artists throughout time. From that, you may often find Todd and the band playing many covers from these bands/artists.
Todd knows a little something about blues, too. His life began as a struggle. Having a rare heart condition, doctors weren't expecting a long life for him. However, he was very blessed both in the health field and musical field. He still recieves treatment for his heart once a month and after 19 years of treatment his health is up to par. With tremendous guitar licks and tricks, Todd loves playing live shows. The spectator can really tell that the stage is his home. Most fans recognize the raw feel of Todd's vocals on the surface and then they hear and feel the unrehersed jamming and spontaneity of the band as a whole. Always willing to give a song a shot, fans often request different tunes.
Todd and his band can easily be considered crowd pleasers. He always tries something new every show from playing his six string behind his head or with only one hand. A Todd Simpson show is definitely one blues filled musical experience!!
